Landscape Soundings, Vienna, 1990
Sound sculpture
Landscape Sounding was created for the Maria Theresea Plaza in Vienna, which is large neoclassical park situated between the Art History and Natural History Museums. The work was a sonic dialogue between these two museums, as loudspeakers were mounted on the facades of both buildings. Live sounds coming from an ancient Danube Wetland filled this space, echoing between the buildings and emerging from speakers buried in the garden.
