Curated by Álvaro Fominaya, Quasi-Systems. MUSAC Collection presents the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León's collection. The selected artworks on display analyze the use of systems in contemporary art, from autonomous systems to dependent systems and from inflexible, closed methodologies to open-ended processes. Quasi-Systems. MUSAC Collection works to compare and contrast different ways of approaching these ideas, striking up intersecting conversations to facilitate interaction between closed-loop and organic, dynamic systems. This idea of meaning in relation to medium is one of the exhibition’s conceptual pillars. Works made from Ai Weiwei's iconic toy-brick medium will be on display in the exhibition.
