What’s for Dinner? Conflict & Consumption in American Food Culture
Moudy Gallery, Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX
August 24 - September 12, 2026

The Art Galleries at Texas Christian University (TCU) present What’s for Dinner? Conflict & Consumption in American Food Culture. Co-curated by TCU's MA Art History students, What’s for Dinner? examines food as an entry point into an investigation of American visual and material culture. With artists approaching food as both subject and system, artworks and artifacts in the exhibition trace how systems of conflict and consumption are not abstract, but embedded in the routines of eating, preparing, and serving food. Expanding this dialogue, internationally known Chinese contemporary artist, documentarian and activist, Ai Weiwei, brings a global, political lens to the exhibition, addressing authority and power through material.
